Dear Week

This has been a hard week but at the same time a good week.

I am on day 18 of not smoking, this is the longest i have ever gone without a cigarette in over eight years. I am very pleased and i have already saved myself over £50 from quitting. That saving means i am a little closer to moving to England.

I went to my favourite place in Dundee this weekend, it's a 1950's inspired diner and i discovered there my phone does a vintage-esque filter on my phone so i played about a bit with it when i was there. They have little mini jukeboxes on the tables :)

The have the funniest signs on the walls :)

It's so cool, and the staff are so lovely :)

They do a really good cup of tea :)

My auntie Lynn, playing about with her new phone.

Burger and chips for me, it is so good there :)

This sign actually made me laugh out loud, i love it!

So many signs in that place!

Last weekend i went into boots and usb'd some photos off and got them printed, these photos are just above my desk. It's my inspiration and happiness corner :) It reminds me that James is always there with me, if not in person but in photograph.

This week i made this Jammy Dodger keyring and then added it to my facebook page for selling. I love it. You can buy it here : http://www.facebook.com/BirdieTeacup

This week my friend Chris moved back to Glasgow, everything is changing in a big way. He's a member of our weekly quiz team, any questions we have about computers or cars will have to be missed out now.

This week i finally cut my fringe, it's been a long time coming!

This week i also tripped up the stairs at my work and now i have a bruised left leg and a really badly bruised thumb. So clumsy!

My week has been pretty busy, but i've worked, spent time with family, drank many cups of tea, travelled a bit and made something new for Birdie Teacup :)

K-Tea's Tea Tour (1) - T Ann Cake (Dundee)

Hi there,

This is a new type of blog post that i might create into a blog itself i am unsure yet. It is called 'K-Tea's Tea Tour'

Basically what i do is i go around tea rooms, cafes, restaurants, museums anywhere that sells tea and i share with you a bit about it and most importantly how good the tea is.

For my first ever K-Tea's Tea Tour post i am reviewing T Ann Cake in Dundee, Scotland.

T Ann Cake is a delightful tea room full of a range of beautiful mismatch and kitsch furniture. I fell in love with every lampshade and even every salt and pepper shaker (The salt and pepper shakers on my table has eyes glued on to them, this made me smile a great deal.)

T Ann Cake has an amazing selection of teas to offer, i was really surprised. There have not been many places i have been to that have a huge tea section, but T Ann Cake is the place to go if you want a huge choice. When you've selected through the list and your tea comes to the table you get these amazing fine china cups and saucers AND on the teapot you get a knitted tea cosy!

If you are in Dundee and you want a good cup of tea, please do not hesitate to go to T Ann Cake. You can visit Ann's blog the lady who owns it to find out more information :)

P.S When i walked into T Ann Cake with my auntie were wowed over by how friendly a welcome we received when we came through the door. Everyone of the members of staff chorused 'hello' to us. It was a very comfortable atmosphere and they have a huge selection of homemade baked goods to choose from and a homemade ever changing menu to choose from. Next time i am in Dundee i will definitely be going back :)

Dear Week

Dear Week,

For starters i apologize for not posting on you at all during the week and it has been six days since i last posted.

I have just finished my ten day stint of shifts and i am so glad it is over.

I have successfully quit smoking for 13 days and i have the whitest teeth i think i have ever had!

I am getting very good at saving pennies and hopefully shall continue to do so well.

I picked up my new favourite cardigan of all time in Primark today for £5 it was in the reduced section but i love it!

I learnt how to say 'Love it' in Polish this week.

And i have drank so many cups of tea i have lost count.

I am starting a new blog topic post a few times a week called 'K-Tea's Tea Tour'

Song of the moment

Hi there,

I have a new song that seems to just hit the spot just now. It is very fitting with a lot of the stuff that is going on with me just now. I haven't got much to share today, i have just been working for five straight days and i still have another five straight days to go. i.e Ten days of straight of work, so i can not wait for my day off on Saturday. One good thing about working ten straight days is i get the weekend off, and in the hospitality business that is pretty amazing!

Here is my song of the moment:

Hope you like it :)

Dear Week (a bit late) and a photo catch up

Dear Week,

This week was Jubilee week and i attended a jubilee party at my auntie's house which turned into a BBQ, i was pretty much the only person who wore red, white and blue. But that didn't bother me at all. I spent some time chatting with my grandparents and it was really good :)

As everyone knows James left this week, it's been emotional but i am starting to feel a lot better about it now. It's time to keep it strong :)

I went to visit my mum on Monday, there is a road on the way to Stonehaven and it pretty much just a forest and i have always loved it, if i could i think i would live there. I took a few photographs but i was on a moving bus. But this photo reminds me a little bit of how fast my life seems to have got recently.

This week i also went back to work which has been really tough. I have been signed off for four months and going back was really daunting, but i am so glad i have started saving money now!

I moved house this week too back into my dad's house for a few months, it's a small room but surprisingly i have managed to fit my three car loads of stuff in it.
This is my DVD and book collection and if you look closely you will see my taxidermy love bird James gave me for Christmas last year, his name is Tabious :)

I finally have a proper desk! When i bought it, it was way too big for the room but my dad cut it down and set it up for me moving in. He did it in the space of a day, what a man :)

This is the knitted moose head i made a month ago, i was going to sell him but then i just loved him too much. If you are interested in one of him then let me know :)

New mug, very me :)

A deer head i made a few months ago, made out of felt. He took a long time to make, his name is George and i loved him so much i kept him too :) Now the moose and the doe live together :)

Book and inspiration pile, it is forever growing!

My wool corner, constantly growing too. I have an addiction to buying wool and felt, it's out of control i just cannot resist.

It's been a hard week but as the week has gone on i have started to feel a lot better. I'm sitting knitting some squares for my blanket tonight, i will post up about operation blanket over the weekend.

Hope you have had a lovely Friday :)

P.S On Jubilee party day i also painted my nails red, white and blue. I loved the celebrations. What did you do?

James's last full day in Aberdeen.

Hi guys,

If you are over here at my little corner of Internet regularly then you know that my boyfriend James has just moved down to England and i will be joining him in three months time to live there permanently.

This past Saturday James and a few of our friends including me went out for a little bit of a pub crawl to give him a brilliant send off. Everyone got quite boozy including James. I on the other hand was actually just on water, i am tea total by choice. But not in a sort of look at me I'm better than you way, i do not think like that at all. I drink every so often but i actually much rather prefer drinking tea :)

Anyways, our first stop was "Brew Dog" in Aberdeen where we played board games and sampled many different tastes of beer and also ate two full cheese plates. Between six of us i may add which doesn't make it seem so bad at all. I discovered that i now like Goats Cheese. A new development in my taste buds!

Popping Pirate, we discovered that no matter how many swords we put in the barrel the pirate did not pop. This game was broken :(

Jenga, a few games of this were played and when they all toppled over we all had to scramble and pick them up when they scooted off of the table.

We found this board game but there were no English instructions. Does anyone out there know how to play this game?

I took a sneaky photography of James and i holding hands under the table :) This is love :)

We discovered Mastermind is not a fun game and we all find it way too easy and guessed everyone's colour combo's within four go's. Does that make us all masterminds?

That was James's last day it was sad but a lot of fun :)

Last night i had my pub usual quiz that i attend every Monday night. We came third place and won some meal vouchers. Can't wait to eat there again the food is pretty good :)

Favourite Music Video

Hi guys,

Just a small blog post before i start getting ready for the jubilee party at my auntie's house. This song isn't jubilee related but it has cheered me up. Instead of being completely miserable that James has moved down south i am trying to uplift my spirits and keep everything positive. It is only temporary.

Enjoy the final day of Jubilee celebrations. I will blog later :)

Everything has become very British

Hi guys,

With the Queens Diamond Jubilee upon on us everything has become just that little more British and not just in Britain. I will be taking part in a jubilee party but not until Tuesday, when my auntie is having one at her house. It's time to get baking some scones, making some jam and making some union jack brooches!

I will try and take as many photos as i can whilst i am there, but you know sometimes when you are having a good time it is hard to get caught up in the moment and i often forget to pull my phone out to take photographs.

I am not a lover of sweet things but how good does all of this union jack themed food look?

Are you having a Jubilee party? What kind of food are you having?

And finally a photo of the lady of the moment.

What a wonderful life!

Day One

Hi there,

James and I a few months ago

Anyone that reads my blog will know that a lot has and is changing in my life right now. At 9.47am this morning James got onto a train and went to England. This was all planned he did not run away, and i am moving down to him in three months time.

Today has been a really hard day for me, it's not a matter of being strong and being really emotional at the same time. When i looked at James today when he was leaving i kept thinking to myself, what if this is the last time i ever see him? What if we never cross paths again?

These in a way are silly questions because of course i will see James again i am moving down to England in three months. But anything can happen! It is the fear of the unknown and it scares the living daylights out of me because i have no way of ever knowing what the future holds, no way at all.

Anyways i do not want this to become a depressing blog with everyone look at me look at me. Let's turn it around on a more positive note.

Yesterday i applied for a new job and it is a job i would imagine i would be totally in love with. To be honest just after applying for it i have fallen totally in love with it.

This is just a short post but i will be blogging again later on in the evening.
